When it comes to skin care, everyone wants to follow it religiously, but only a few women maintain it. The reason why others fail to do so is that they still make mistakes.
If you want to have glowing and healthy skin, follow the right skin care steps such as cleansing, exfoliating, toning and finally moisturizing. These steps should be followed correctly in the right sequence.
Skin Cleansing:
Gone are the days when cleansing would mean splashing water and using a face wash. Skin cleansing is one of the first steps to skin care and therefore, it should be done correctly.
Take off your makeup. This is the first and most important step to skin cleansing. Use a makeup remover or oil-based cream to take off the makeup. Wash your face before using a cleanser. After drying skin, use a cleanser that suits your skin type. Apply cleanser on your skin and rub gently in a circular manner and wash your face again with water.
Skin Exfoliating:
Exfoliation is essential to removing dead skin cells and avoiding bacterial infection.
Instead of using hot water, use mild warm water and a gel-based scrub to eliminate dirt from the face. Women with normal skin should use a chemical peel to remove dead skin cells.
Over-exfoliation should be avoided, as it can lead to skin irritation and makes the skin greasy.
Skin Toning:
Use alcohol based astringent or herbal skin tonics. Alcohol based astringents are readily available on the market. Herbal skin tonics, on the other hand, contain honey, rose, and mint.
Skin Moisturizing:
Skin moisturizing is crucial to prevent cracks, dry and dull skin. When your skin is dry, it causes itchiness. Apply thick moisturizing cream on your skin. Thick moisturizers are light in nature and keep your skin protected for long hours. If a moisturizer suits your skin type, it should feel comfortable on your skin. A day moisturizer must contain an SPF (Sun Protection Factor).
