Level II MUD makeup school students at Avenue Five Institute recently had the opportunity to work with professional photographer Maja Buck. Click here to check out photos from the awesome experience sprinkled throughout this blog for a great example of hands-on real-world learning at its finest. An important component of our Level II Program is studio makeup, which includes best practices for makeup that pops on camera. What better way to learn this than to work with an established photographer?
As a prof makeup artist, you will be tasked to work alongside an entire cast of characters—from stylists to photographers. One of the best ways to improve your craft is to work under the experienced guidance of many different types of established industry experts.
What is a MUD Partner School?
We proudly partner with Make-Up Designory (MUD) to offer uniquely enriching courses focused on professional makeup application. Students learn about everything from applying bridal makeup to nailing high-end fashion photo shoots.
In 1997, MUD was established in Los Angeles, California. Since then, it has bloomed into a well-respected and leading beauty expert with two corporate campuses; one in LA and the other in New York. As a MUD partner school, we offer many of the same courses taught at the main campuses right here in Austin, Texas. Courses are split up into smaller modules and can be transferred to MUD’s main campuses.
Level I VS Level II
Each program offers 105 curriculum hours, for a total of 210 hours. Level I focuses on the beauty essentials, as well as bridal make-up. While Level II builds on this, offering hands-on experience and training in airbrush makeup, studio makeup, and high fashion makeup. You must complete Level I to enroll in our Level II MUD makeup school program.
Students earn a certification of completion from Avenue Five Institute, along with additional certification from MUD Make-up Designory.
