Make-up Tips for Olive Skin Tones

Olive skinned women who are wondering which products they should use should consider using the following makeup and beauty tips:

1.  Go Easy on the Make-up

Most people with olive skin have a great complexion.  There is no need to cover it up by smothering it with foundation.  Use a light coat of foundation to even out their skin tone and cover their blemishes with a concealer.

2.  Wear the Right Shade of Foundation

Buying the perfect shade of foundation is something that all women struggle with.  If the wrong foundation is used on olive skin it can look unnatural and/or muddy.

Foundations come in three types of colors.  These are pink, yellow and orange.  Pink based foundations are for women with light skin and orange based foundations are for women with dark skin.  A foundation with a yellow base is perfect for women with olive skin.

3.  Use a Concealer

There is one drawback to having olive skin.  People with this skin tone are more likely to have dark under eye circles.  Thankfully, these can be hidden with a little bit of concealer.

Like foundation, concealer should have a yellow tone.  An orange based concealer is also useful as it will lighten the dark circles.  After this has been applied, yellow concealer should be applied on top of it.

4.  Use Bronzer and Highlighters

Olive and dark skinned women often forgo bronzer.  After all, their skin is already brown, why waste money?  The truth is that bronzer can give women a healthy glow. By highlighting certain areas of the face, women can make their best features stand out.  An example of this is using a highlighter on the cheeks.

Perhaps the best piece of advice a make-up artist can give to an olive skinned woman is to have fun.  Women with lighter skin tones often find that some colors and products do not suit them or “wash them out”.  Dark skinned women cannot use lighter colors as they make them look unnatural.

Women with olive skin can pull of nearly every make-up look!  Light, dark and bright colors look great on olive skin. Alternatively, they can get their makeup done at a beauty school salon.
