With our YourTime™ Schedules, you’ll attend on-campus classes for 4 hours a day, Monday through Friday, while completing 10 hours of online learning each week. Taught by experienced educators, Avenue Five Institute’s hybrid learning environment allows students to combine interactive online curriculum covering esthetic theory and techniques with practical experience in a simulated salon environment, working under the supervision of a skilled instructor.

There are many ways to build a career in esthetics. The first step is completing a state-approved esthetician program and obtaining your license. In Texas, there is no separate medical esthetician license—this title simply reflects a professional’s focus within the industry. Many estheticians choose to gain advanced training in treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and laser procedures to work in medical spas, dermatology offices, and plastic surgery practices.
At Avenue Five Institute, students receive hands-on experience with chemical peels and machines including microdermabrasion. Many graduates apply their skills in advanced skincare settings, expanding their career opportunities within the beauty industry.
To become an esthetician in Texas, complete a state-approved esthetician program, pass the TDLR licensing exam, and meet enrollment requirements like being at least 17 years old and having a high school diploma or GED. Three flexible schedules are available: Morning (8:30 am-12:30 pm), Afternoon (1:00 pm-5:00 pm), and Evening (5:30 pm-9:30 pm). Students are scheduled to attend Monday-Friday and also complete 10 hours of weekly distance learning from home at whatever time works best.
