Fall 2018: Avenue Five Institute will expand to its second location in South Austin! We are excited to bring the uniquely progressive wellness and beauty programs we are known for in North Austin to the growing number of future hairstylists and skincare therapists in South Austin. We’re are now enrolling for classes starting September 17th!
The new Avenue Five Institute location will offer Esthetics and Cosmetology classes. In addition, we will serve the community with affordable top-notch salon services. Our South Austin campus will begin offering a full menu of salon and spa services beginning January 1st, 2019.
New South Austin Beauty School, Same Foundation

Avenue Five was founded on the goal of modernizing and re-inventing the traditional beauty school experience. Over the years, beauty school education has become synonymous for roller-sets, perms, and entry-level skill development for state board exams. We wanted to turn up the music, embrace a younger generation of students and clients, and develop programs that could evolve with industry trends. This included a significant investment in resources towards esthetics, massage therapy, red-hot clinical skincare, and bodywork industries.
11 years later, we are extremely proud of all that we’ve achieved. Our award-winning school has received many industry accolades and awards, including Nuts & Bolts Business School of the Year and Modern Salon’s Excellence in Education.
With over 1,500 graduates, you could say Avenue Five’s goal of disrupting old traditions, raising the bar for education, and elevating the reputation of beauty and wellness is a success. But we aren’t done yet, not even close! We vow to continue to push the envelope and offer progressive classes for future barbers, beauty and wellness professionals at our South Austin campus.
Why Open Another Location in Austin?
Avenue Five Institute’s founder Brandon Martin is a lifelong Austenite. When asked why he decided to open a second location in his hometown city, he shared, “There’s great need for progressive beauty and wellness schools in Austin. We look forward to serving even more of Austin’s growing community of beauty professionals.”
Adding another location in this great city opens doors for more students while offering greater convenience. Speaking of convenience, Avenue Five plans to maintain flexible scheduling and night classes to suit busy schedules.
Described as “über-hip” by austinmonthly.com, the culture in South Texas is unique and continues to evolve as more people move to this trending hot spot. In fact, Austin is the fastest growing city in the US right now. Plus, South Austin is home to famous landmarks like Zilker Park and Barton Springs, and plays host to a variety of festivals like South by Southwest.
From the north to the south, the city of Austin is ripe with music and art. It’s a city where all the “weird” creatives can come together and dream, create, and share. This resonates with Avenue Five on a deep level. After all, our school originated out of a desire to provide a modern and non-traditional beauty school program focused on the future.
Which Campus is Right for You?
If you are looking to enroll in Cosmetology or Esthetics classes, our South Austin campus is your go-to. If you want to enroll in Makeup or Massage Therapy courses, our North Austin campus offers what you’re seeking.
Both campuses offer courses in Esthetics and Cosmetology, and so the best campus for you depends on where you’re commuting from.
Our North Austin Campus is ideal for students commuting from Round Rock, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Cedar Park, Lago Vista, Leander, Liberty Hill, Hutto,Taylor, Manor, and Temple.
Our South Austin Campus is ideal for students commuting from San Marcos, Dripping Springs, Buda, Bee Cave, Kyle, Driftwood, Wimberley, Lockhart, Bastrop, and New Braunfels.
