How to Find Your Dream Beauty Clients

How-to-Find-Your-Dream-Beauty-Clients

Working in beauty sounds like a dream job – and it can be – if you have the right clients.

We’ve all heard about demanding divas and clients that are never happy, ready to take all their life problems out on you.

These are not the clients you want to be working with day in and day out.

The easiest way to avoid the drama clients and find the dream clients is to come up with a plan that weeds out the people you don’t want to work with – while simultaneously building stronger relationships with the clients you are happy to spend time with.

Ask Yourself Questions

The first step in finding your dream client is knowing who they are. Ask yourself these questions so you can fully visualize your ideal client: How old are they? Are they actresses, moms, stage performers, brides, entrepreneurs? What is their yearly expendable income? Where are they located?

Knowing these things will help you set up your business in a way that is priced to meet your target client. There is a big difference in what you can charge a working mom in Kansas versus what you can charge a New York City bride on their big day. Think about where your clients are located and design your business according to what their lives look like.

Start a Blog

Beauty blogging is big business. Not only will it allow you to work with suppliers to promote their products (meaning you will get product for free, and possibly even earn income when blogging about those products), but it will bring clients to you.

When someone is googling for bridal makeup services – if you’re blogging about ‘10 ways to ensure your bridal makeup lasts all day’ and that’s what they’re researching, they will land on your site – and see all the services you have to offer. They will also get to know more about you, what you specialize in, and what your style is – meaning they will know what to expect when they sit in your chair.

This also helps build your brand and establishes you as a thought leader in the industry – both vital skills to have when it comes to developing a successful business that makes you happy.

Go Fishing

Once you’ve done the above, the next step is letting these dream clients know you – their dream stylist – is out there and available.

The best way to do this is to guest post on other beauty blogs and websites, get yourself on social media sharing the best beauty related content, update your online profiles to reflect your services, and link back to your website any chance you get.

The more marketing you do, the easier it will be for the right clients to find you, and it’ll make your business grow significantly faster than other less motivated beauty graduates.
