Cool Summer Hair for Smooth Summer Tunes

The days of the Gen X-ers are gone. Enter the Millenials; we’re independent thinkers and always set the tone for the newest and coolest trends in all things beauty and fashion.

This summer, it’s not enough to have the hottest tickets in town to the summer’s best music festivals, but we gotta’ look the part. Whether it’s boho-inspired hair or a colorful ‘do, we’re very much owning it during these dog days of summer.

This week, feel inspired by our favorite trendsetting A-listers who are really jumping out of the hairstyle box to try out these festival-ready styles.

The Cuoco

This chick is always changing her ‘do, and may we say, for the better!? She just revealed a colorful new style to her Instagram followers… a cute, pixie cut in pastel pink! Now whether this hue speaks to you, or you’re more of a indigo, or turquoise lover like Kylie Jenner, it’s all the rage these days and might just be the amped up look you need to grab attention at the totally trippy Psych Fest.

The Hudgens

This is the ultimate carefree, boho look that will suit a long day of aimlessly stage hopping with your girlfriends at the ACL festival. Let your hair air dry to achieve a natural wave.

Give it a light side part, or wherever it feels most comfortable. Then, straighten the roots of your hair, while letting the rest of your tresses fall naturally. The look isn’t complete until you don a flower crown, a flow-y crop top, cut-off shorts and the largest sunglasses you can find.

Kate’s style is always on point. She loves braids but her ultra-hip hairstyle at Coachella this year featuring THREE, yes THREE elements- the braid, the half bun and the tousled lob– got the attention of all her fans, and might just get you backstage access to this year’s much anticipated Fun Fun Fun Fest.

She said the look was ‘a nod to the 90’s half-up, half-down, grunge hair with a twist’.

The Sandé

Emeli’s perfectly coiffed Pompadour, with the sides of the head trimmed close to the surface, is a nod to ‘80s punk style meshed effortlessly with what’s hot now. Spike it up in a badass Mohawk or style it soft in curls, this bold look may not look good on everyone, but if you’ve got the confidence to pull it off, we say, GO FOR IT!

It’s no surprise that there’s plenty of celeb style inspiration out there, but if we know our readership well enough, our guess is you’ve got plenty of creative ideas that have yet to be unleashed on the twittersphere. So, whether you’re a die hard Psych Fest fan, a never-miss-a-day ACL junkie, or you prefer like the tamer crowd at the Old Settler’s Music Fest, do the hair gods a solid and try out something new.
